Job Title: R&D Technician
Summary: Our R&D Technicians are critical to our success as they support the technical needs for multiple products. This position will focus on working with CAD/CAM software to produce CNC, laser or brake formed parts. Work is to be inclusive but not limited to final assembly, welding, machining and other general fabrication activities to produce product. You will work in a brand new, light-filled, state of the art manufacturing facility, together with a team of highly motivated and skilled team members; to engineer our award-winning proprietary products.
Responsibilities - As an R&D Technician at United Safety, you will:
- Machine and weld work on R&D projects as required.
- Final assembly of assigned R&D projects.
- Fabrication of assigned R&D projects.
- Work independently with limited direction.
- ERP management for R&D.
- Read/understand Engineering Drawings/BOMs and scan jobs as needed.
- Focus on details throughout all stages of work to meet quality objectives and to eliminate scrap.
- Provide team with sufficient information and support to accomplish team goals.
- Maintain an organized & clean workstation and leave each area better than it was found.
- Understand that all team members will need to pitch in, in other areas, as needed.
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
- You possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Working with your hands to build or repair things comes easy to you.
- You are proficient with ERP systems (Syteline is a plus).
- You display a high degree of computer literacy. Experience in 3D CAD and CAM software is a plus.
- Machining (knee mill/lathe) is a plus.
- Welding (MIG/TIG) is a requirement
- You have exceptional motor coordination and can easily use a variety of tools in a safe manner.
- You can follow verbal and written instructions, directions and other communication in English.
- Able to perform basic shop math calculations (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, measuring)
- You are able to read engineering drawings and blue prints.
- You can work independently with limited direction.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours a day.
- You follow all policies to promote a safe working environment at USSC.
- You bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
- Help USSC operate effectively by adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
